We are Girls.
Fighting back with the power of our sound.
Moving up when people put us down
From dominating on the tennis court to running the world
There is nothing we can not accomplish as girls
Especially when we are young
the world seems so fun, overrun
with opportunities to be who we want to be
see who we want to see
but that can be torn away crumbling like debris
when we are told to sit still and not speak
and be beautiful but not unique
However, in 2015
we were no longer caught between
the lines of the story written for us
We will bring the world justice
contemplating constellations
dancing through your expectations
Celebrating the near end of oppression that lasted so long
 and we know people are listening to our song
we are everything
presidents, dancers, lawyers, actors
comedians, athletes, coaches, factors
in the equation of life
and it’s time you realize
That you are not invincible and we are not invisible
we will not sit here and look pretty like one of your precious pearls
because there is nothing we can not accomplish as girls
